Identify Your Values, police values are often found in police tradition. For example, truth, integrity and respect for others are often values police associate with especially when making difficult decisions. The purpose of this interactive assessment is to understand your current state and define the desired future state of the organization as a values-based organization (VBO). You need to understand where you are before you can plan where you want to be. When the police department or the city asks for input and engages people in focus groups or input through surveys, the people who respond to that call are the same people who have been responding for decades. They are typically people that have traditionally supported the police. Often they have a direct communication channel to city and police leaders. We go beyond this traditional survey group and engage those who may be disenfranchised or hidden in the community such as faith based leadership, organizations representing the views of the underrepresented community, the end users of policing actions, homeless and treating physicians. This is your foundation to determine the future of the organization. The final report is a qualitative analysis prepared by our assessment team with step by step actions to build your VBO. This is our 1st Step, the foundation.
Creating your Performance Enhancing Culture, building your Strategic Plan that includes connecting individual values with organizational, engaging everyone in the plan with specific tactics to accomplish, measuring achievements while holding people accountable to meet their commitments. Finally, it’s about reinforcing achievements. Most Strategic Plans end up in a binder on a bookshelf or in a shredder after the glow of the offsite has vanished. We utilize a proven process of planning, alignment, communications and accountabilities tracked for each key individual, monthly and quarterly leadership and board follow-up reviews. This process ensures that the vision, mission and goals will be carried out and accountabilities reviewed at least monthly. Plans developed with our proprietary process and tools have thrived and elevated organizations to meet their goals. We provide a cloud-based proprietary strategic tracking and accountably tool to ensure we together can track and support your implementation. These are Steps 2-5.
Competencies are the “secret sauce” to success in a properly designed and implemented strategic plan. Competencies are the behaviors that demonstrate the knowledge, skills, abilities and personal attributes that distinguish superior performers from their peers. We created, then incorporated very specific competencies into our strategic plan. This action puts your organization in the top 5% of LEOs.
We can provide competency models for: Patrol Officers; Supervision (sergeant); Mid-management (lieutenant); command staff, professional (non-sworn); and executive levels. Competency models will be tailored to your specific organization, community and values. In addition we provide support to incorporate the competencies in your hiring, performance management, academy training, filed training, promotion boards, and performance recognition.
Dealing with change and resistance is difficult for any organization, we understand that with LEOs, the community, the city leadership, legislatures and unions make this a greater challenge. We provide at every level change management tools and processes to deal with resistance and dissenters. We look at change as bringing along one individual at a time to embrace the change.

Brian P. Carlson
Mark led my team through a New Team Assimilation via Zoom during the "shelter in place." We were not operational and all in different places. The outcome and Mark's coaching got us quickly on the same page. I recommend Mark as a coach.
As my personal executive coach, Mark supported me through my transition to CEO of an international mining technology business. Our focus on my vision and communications helped me shape the strategies to take this market leading business to the next level in the coming years.
